Board of Directors


President


The President has the ultimate responsibility for coordination and implementation of all work of the Academy. The President is the strategic leader of the Academy. The President monitors Board functions and actions to ensure that the Academy's Mission and Vision Statements, as well as its Goals and Objectives are achieved in an effective and efficient manner for the benefit of CAA members. The President ensures transparency of the Academy business and accountability to members and to applicable laws and regulations. The President is responsible for ensuring that the Board of Directors and its members: are aware of and fulfill their governance responsibilities; comply with applicable laws and bylaws; conduct board business effectively and efficiently; are accountable for their performance.

President-Elect


The President-Elect is the Vice Chair of the Board of Directors and represents the Board at meetings and functions as required ensuring that the Academy's Mission and Vision Statements, as well as its Goals and Objectives are achieved in an effective and efficient manner for the benefit of CAA members.

Past President


The Past President serves as consultant to the Executive Committee and advisor to the President as needed. The Past President is responsible for the supervision of the Academy's Honours and Awards Program. The most recent Past President acts as chair of the Past President's Committee. In addition, the Past President is involved with the Past President's committee in maintaining historical records of the Academy.

Treasurer


The Treasurer is responsible for acting in the best long-term interests of the organization and its community. Treasurer holds signing authority for the Academy.

Secretary


The Secretary ensures accurate recording and maintenance of Academy communications and documents.

Board Members


Board members are responsible for acting in the best long-term interests of the Academy and its community and will bring to the task informed decision-making, a broad knowledge and an inclusive perspective. Responsibilities include a mix of general or basic tasks, to simple projects. All activities relate to the function of the Academy as an agency which represents Audiology in Canada. Board members work together as a coordinated team with other members, the Executive Committee, as well as other non-board committee members.
